[ My Story ]

I was 19, working at a small family-owned restaurant, when I ran into a problem that turned out to be bigger than it looked.

When we were running low on lettuce (or any ingredient), there was no easy way to tell my boss. By the time anyone noticed, we were already out. And when we ran out, we had to stop serving whole items off the menu. One weekend, we turned away at least 30 customers because we were out of chicken. Customers left disappointed, and there was nothing we could do about it in the moment.

I kept thinking: there had to be a better way. What if I could just press a button and let my boss know something was running low, before it became a problem?

That's where GLOUT started.

Later, I also worked in event venue planning at Baylor University, where we ran into a different problem. We constantly lost track of items. A coworker would take something home, or a client would walk off with equipment that wasn't theirs after an event ended. That's what led me to build asset tracking into GLOUT. Whether it's a demo unit, a microphone borrowed for a couple hours, or any piece of equipment that leaves the shelf, GLOUT tracks where it went, who has it, and gives you the analytics to back it up.

GLOUT was built to solve that exact problem, for restaurants, warehouses, retail, event venues, and any small business where knowing what's Good, Low, Out, In Use, or Available shouldn't require a walk to the back room or a scramble at the worst possible moment.
